Current job: Squad Leader, Company Level Mountain Warfare Instructor
Most memorable experience:That would either be climbing Mount Triglav (the highest peak in Slovenia) with Slovenian Mountain Warfare instructors and Macedonian Special Forces, or competing at the Chief of the National Guard Bureau’s Biathlon National Championships while representing the COARNG. I have so many cool experiences to choose from, it’s really hard to narrow it down.
How I can help you: I like to take extra care to find the best fit for potential recruits. There are so many great opportunities in the COARNG, and setting someone up for great success in their civilian career as well as their military career can be as simple as me taking the time to ask pointed questions on what is really motivating their decisions. After I get past surface-level reasoning, I can do a much better job of guiding new recruits to a career path that best fits their goals.
Why did you join National Guard?
- It offered me the opportunity to become a soldier and serve my country, something I had wanted to do since I was a small child.
- I ran out of money for college, and this was the quickest way to continue going to college without going into debt.
- I wanted to try the sport of biathlon (cross-country skiing and marksmanship), and the COARNG uniquely offered me the opportunity to get paid to learn the sport.
